Detrell Calloway
DeTrell Calloway was born and raised in Miami. A graduate of Miami Jackson Senior High School in 1992 (Go Generals!), he then left for North Carolina to pursue his Bachelor in Arts degree at Johnson C. Smith University where he majored in Communications. DeTrell played football both in high school and college at the position of a quarterback. He graduated in 1997. Leadership was already embedded in DeTrell from the start. After graduating from Johnson C. Smith University, DeTrell returned home where he landed a job at South Florida Workforce Jobs for Miami as a Welfare Transition Case Manager in 2001. Soon after, he got promoted to Quality Assurance Manager in the company. He enjoys seeing how someone flourishes and becomes fruitful through the services he provides here at Transition, Inc. when they came to him with no hope. As Placement Specialist, DeTrell is responsible for providing work readiness training, employment assessments, job search, job training, job placement and wrap-around services for our participants including transportation assistance. In addition, he is responsible for tracking participants with 30, 60, 90 Follow-Up phone calls and appointments. With over 20 years of experience in career services, DeTrell brings a comprehensive approach to ensuring our participants reach their goals.
Fun fact: DeTrell is an avid fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, so don't ever talk bad about his team in front of him.
