BENJAMIN S. WAXMAN is a 35-year criminal defense attorney certified by the Florida Bar since 1990 as a Criminal Appellate Specialist.  A partner at the law firm of Black, Srebnick, Kornspan, & Stumpf, P.A., his practice emphasizes federal and state appeals and postconviction remedies.  

 

Waxman, born and raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, graduated the University of Minnesota with a business degree in 1978 and graduated the University of Miami School of Law in 1983. 

 

Waxman has been a director of the Miami Chapter of the ACLU for 30 years. As an ACLU volunteer, he was the lead attorney for 30 years in a class action law suit against the City of Miami to prohibit the arrest, harassment, and destruction of personal property of involuntarily homeless persons. He has been a board member of Transition, Inc., for approximately eight years.
